Beyond MLB — international baseball trivia
WBC mode is designed for the fan who watches international baseball, not just the 162-game MLB season. The puzzle pool spans every participating country and every roster year — including players who never made it to the majors.
Japanese stars
Beyond Ohtani and Ichiro — Kenta Maeda, Seiya Suzuki, Yu Darvish, and the deep NPB players who went head-to-head with MLB rosters.
Dominican legends
The 2013 undefeated team had Robinson Canó, Nelson Cruz, José Reyes. WBC mode tests if you know the full roster, not just the headliners.
Puerto Rico's runs
Back-to-back silver medals in 2013 and 2017. Carlos Correa, Yadier Molina, and a lineup built for tournament baseball.
Korean dynasty
South Korea's 2008 Olympic gold carried over — they've been a WBC contender every tournament. Ryu Hyun-jin, Park Chan-ho, the players who built that program.
USA's long wait
2017 ended a 10-year absence from the podium. The roster, the run, the Marcus Stroman story — all WBC puzzle fuel.
The underdog pool
Italy's 2023 run. The Netherlands' perennial overperformance. Israel's 2017 debut. WBC mode rewards the fans who pay attention to the whole tournament.
What a WBC clue looks like
Instead of “Played 18 seasons with one franchise,” you'd see:
Went 2-0 with a 1.50 ERA in WBC pool play representing his home country in 2017.
His WBC debut came before his MLB debut — he was the ace of the rotation at 22.
Won the WBC tournament MVP despite pitching for the losing semifinal team in 2013.

Frequently asked questions
What is the WBC baseball game?
Jukr WBC will be a dedicated version of the daily Jukr puzzle focused entirely on World Baseball Classic players, rosters, and moments. Guess international stars from their WBC career stats and context instead of their MLB numbers.
Will clues be based on WBC stats or MLB stats?
WBC mode will use international tournament stats — WBC batting averages, pitching performances, and tournament moments — rather than MLB career numbers. A player like Samurai Japan-era Ichiro looks very different when the stats are WBC-specific.
Which tournaments will be included?
All five WBC tournaments: 2006, 2009, 2013, 2017, and 2023. Players who appeared in multiple tournaments will have clues that reflect their full WBC career.
Can I play non-American players?
That's actually the point. WBC mode is built for fans of international baseball who want to test knowledge of Japanese NPB stars, Dominican legends, Cuban defectors, and South Korean sluggers — not just MLB regulars.
Where can I play a baseball guessing game right now?
WBC mode is still in development, but the daily Jukr MLB puzzle is live at playjukr.com. Same six-clue format, new mystery player every day.
Will there be a daily WBC puzzle?
Yes — the plan is a dedicated daily WBC puzzle running alongside the main MLB puzzle. Two puzzles per day for the hardcore baseball fan.
